"The Mind Guardian": An AI-Based Video Game to Detect Cognitive Decline

 



In a groundbreaking effort to promote early detection of cognitive decline, Samsung Spain has launched "The Mind Guardian," an artificial intelligence-powered application designed to assess memory and cognitive functions in users over 55. The app offers a fun and engaging way to test for early signs of conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia using a series of gamified tests.

The self-administered program is entirely free and allows users to complete cognitive challenges in a 45-minute session. The app then uses AI algorithms to analyze the results with an impressive 97% accuracy rate. If any potential signs of cognitive decline are detected, users are encouraged to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and possible treatment.

Samsung’s initiative is part of its broader "Technology with Purpose" campaign, aimed at leveraging AI, big data, and digital health solutions to improve people’s lives. As cognitive disorders continue to rise globally, early detection tools like "The Mind Guardian" could play a crucial role in slowing disease progression and enabling more effective interventions.

The app is now available for download in Spain, and experts hope that, if successful, it will be expanded to other countries.
